Every city has a neighborhood that runs on men in suits. In New York it's the part of Midtown where the deli guy knows your order and the bars fill up at 5:01. In Tokyo it's Shinbashi. The steam locomotive in the plaza outside the west exit is where TV crews go when they need a salaryman to say something tired into a microphone. Yakitori smoke, pachinko jingles, guys reading their phones while they walk. I love it here. It doesn't pretend to be anything.
So it makes sense that the local health shop doesn't pretend either.
Two shops in one
The first thing to understand about 新橋Sweets is that the official site has two separate price pages: SYSTEM (手コキ) for the hand-service course and SYSTEM (ヘルス) for the health course. The banner on the homepage reads 「店舗型 手コキ&ヘルス」 (store-type, hand & health), and the site footer calls it an old-established Shinbashi health shop, part of the EVE Group chain, which says it is filed under the Entertainment Business Act (風営法届出済). That last bit matters. It means a licensed, legal storefront, not a gray-area walk-up.
The hand course is the newer menu, and the site states the rules plainly. It has its own dedicated staff, described as 「素人女子」 (amateur girls). The basic play is hand service plus touching her chest. The homepage banner advertises 「全コース 揉み放題付き」, meaning that touching is included in every course. And in bold: asking for or trying to negotiate health-course play with a hand-course girl is strictly forbidden.
I respect that. A lot of shops leave the lines blurry and let the customer and the woman sort it out in the room, which is awkward for both. Sweets writes the rule down before you walk in. Pick the menu you actually want, and don't try to haggle once you're inside.
I went with the hand course. Cheaper, shorter, and the right fit for a lunch hour.
The numbers
The official price tables are images I couldn't read in full, so here's what I could confirm in text on the shop's fuzoku.jp listing and the official site:
- Shortest course: 25 minutes, from ¥5,000. The homepage banner says 「部屋代込み ¥5,000〜」: the room fee is included, which is the upside of a store-type shop over delivery. No separate hotel bill.
- Hand course B: 65 minutes, ¥11,000, or ¥10,000 flat with the coupon
- Entry fee: ¥0
- Nomination fee: up to ¥1,000 (the coupon page lists ¥1,000 when you name someone)
- Cards accepted, per the fuzoku.jp listing
The coupon is headed 「【手コキコース】Bコース 65分1万円ポッキリ！」. It's hand course only, nomination is allowed, there's no expiry date, and you show it on your phone. There's also a line that some charges sit outside the course price, so ask what the ¥10,000 covers when you call. I did. It took under a minute.
For a New Yorker: that's less than a steakhouse lunch downtown, and I've paid for plenty of steakhouse lunches downtown.
There's also a review reward. Post a review of the hand course on 口コミ情報局 or 風俗じゃぱん and the shop gives you a ¥5,000 discount voucher. The site says that's worth one free 25-minute A course. If you think you'll come back, it's the best deal on the page.
How booking works
This is the detail I'd have missed without reading the system page. Phone reservations open one hour before each woman's shift starts, all at once. For women starting at 10:00, booking opens at 9:30. The listed hours are 10:00–23:00, and the number is 03-3433-6818.
So if you've got your eye on someone from the roster, look up her start time and call right when booking opens. That's the whole trick. I didn't have anyone in mind, so I called mid-morning and asked who'd be free at noon on the hand course.
The fuzoku.jp roster showed 43 women, listed ages 18 to 28, heights 142 to 168 cm, 9 marked 新人 (newcomer), and about 10 on the day's schedule when I checked. The official site has a NEWFACE page too, and the steady stream of newcomers is the most useful sign that a budget shop is actually busy.
Getting there
The official address is Shinbashi 3-15-1, Daiichi Taiko Building 3F, Minato-ku. The listing says 3 minutes on foot from Shinbashi Station, where JR, the Ginza and Asakusa lines and the Yurikamome all meet. The 3-chome side is the dense, older part of town: narrow buildings, an izakaya on every floor, signs stacked to the roof.
Three minutes is accurate. The best thing about a third-floor shop in Shinbashi is that nobody looks up. The street is full of men on a schedule, and half the elevators in the neighborhood are carrying someone somewhere he'd rather not explain. You blend right in.
Noon on a weekday
My theory was that the office crowd goes for ramen at noon, not this, so the waiting room would be quiet. It was. Pay at reception, a few minutes on a bench, then someone walks you back. Nobody tried to talk me into the health course or a longer slot. The staff were quick and plain, which is how I like it.
I'm not naming her and I won't describe the room. She was working.
What I can tell you is that the "ordinary girl" pitch held up. She was a little shy for the first couple of minutes, then chatty. She wanted to know if New York is really as loud as in the movies. I told her it's louder, and that nobody there would ever call a 65-minute appointment a "lunch break." The time passed without either of us watching the clock. Short courses at cheap shops can feel like a conveyor belt. This didn't, and that's the real test for a budget shop.
I was back on the street with time to spare, bought an onigiri at the FamilyMart on the corner, and walked past a line of salarymen waiting for a standing soba counter. Nobody knew a thing. That's Shinbashi.
Who this shop is for
- Anyone working or staying around Shinbashi, Shiodome, Ginza or Toranomon. It's three minutes from the station.
- Budget visitors. From ¥5,000 with the room included, no entry fee, and 65 minutes for ¥10,000 with the coupon.
- First-timers who find glossy shops intimidating. The menus and rules are written down in advance, which removes most of the guesswork.
- Card payers. Cards are accepted, per the listing.
Who it isn't for: anyone who wants luxury, or anyone who thinks the posted rules are just a starting point for negotiation. They aren't, and the shop says so.
