Order More': Shizuoka Host Arrested for Seizing Customer's Phone, in Prefecture's First Case Under Japan's Toughened Host-Club Law
Shizuoka Prefectural Police arrested a 22-year-old host on July 7, 2026, accusing him of taking a first-time customer's smartphone and pressuring her to keep ordering drinks until a bill advertised as a flat 10,000 yen reached more than 100,000 yen—the prefecture's first arrest under the intimidation provisions of the revised Businesses Affecting Public Morals Regulation Act that took effect in June 2025.
