Up the hill
Dogenzaka on a Friday afternoon is Shibuya with the sound turned down. The crossing is behind you, the ramen lines thin out, and by the time the slope gets serious you're in love-hotel country. That's the point. Shibuya Eos (渋谷エオス) runs a reception office right here, at Dogenzaka 2-14-1, about five minutes on foot from JR Shibuya. It works two ways: as a delivery shop that sends women to your hotel anywhere in the 23 wards, and as a "hotel health" where you check in at the office and meet her at a nearby love hotel.
The concept is hitozuma, married women and grown-ups. The roster runs from mid-twenties to mid-forties. On the Friday I looked, 24 women were on the day's schedule out of roughly 58 on the books, with shifts covering everything from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. No schoolgirl marketing, no youth gimmicks. The shop's own copy is about adult women who haven't given up on feeling good. Fine by me.
Hours are 10:00 to 5:00, and one portal lists the last booking at midnight. The phone is 03-5428-5787. Web booking runs 24 hours.
Three menus, not one
This is the whole personality of the place. The official price sheet is split into three brackets, named for the women's ages:
| Under 35 ("young wife select") | Over 36 ("wife select") | Over 46 ("mature select") |
|---|---|---|
| 50 min ¥14,000 | 60 min ¥14,000 | 60 min ¥10,000 |
| 65 min ¥18,000 | 75 min ¥17,000 | 75 min ¥13,000 |
| 80 min ¥22,000 | 90 min ¥21,000 | 90 min ¥17,000 |
| 95 min ¥26,000 | 120 min ¥27,000 | 120 min ¥21,000 |
| 110 min ¥30,000 | 180 min ¥40,000 | 180 min ¥31,000 |
Every bracket charges ¥4,000 per 10-minute extension and ¥2,000 to request a specific woman. There's a ¥3,000 joining fee, and some women carry a "special nomination" surcharge from ¥1,000 up. And the line New Yorkers always skip: the sheet says 税別. Tax is extra. Add 10% to everything you see.
Look at how the brackets stagger. Under 35 doesn't even sell a 60-minute course; it jumps from 50 to 65. Same ¥14,000 buys you 50 minutes in the young bracket or a full hour in the middle one. At two hours it's ¥30,000 (110 min), ¥27,000 (120 min) or ¥21,000 (120 min). Per hour, that's roughly ¥16,400, ¥13,500 and ¥10,500. The shop isn't hiding the logic. It's printing it.
The math I did over an iced coffee
The extension is a trap in every bracket. Over 36, going from 60 to 75 minutes costs ¥3,000 more. Booking 60 and adding a 10-minute extension costs ¥4,000 for less time. Under 35, 50 to 65 is ¥4,000 for fifteen minutes; the extension is ¥4,000 for ten. Book the length you want at the start.
Long courses get cheaper per hour, but slowly. Over 36 goes from ¥14,000 an hour at 60 minutes to about ¥13,300 at 180. Not worth three hours unless you actually want three hours.
Credit cards cost 10%. Receipts are available. Cash is simpler.
The love hotel is on you. One portal notes the hotel runs from ¥2,000 on top, which matches what Dogenzaka rooms charge for a short stay.
What "new customer" actually buys
The headline deal, on the official top page and on every portal, is a new-customer special: joining fee waived, ¥2,000 off the course, and a ¥3,000 voucher for your next visit. Valid all day, nomination OK for +¥2,000, phone or walk-in booking.
Run it against the sheet:
- Under 35, 65 min: ¥18,000 becomes ¥16,000, plus ¥3,000 not paid in joining fees.
- Over 36, 60 min: ¥14,000 becomes ¥12,000.
- Over 46, 60 min: the coupons say ¥10,000, which is already the list price. The official top page's new-customer table (labeled "Over 45" there) says ¥11,000 for that hour, and lists the longer mature courses at exactly their regular prices.
So in the mature bracket, the "discount" is really just the waived joining fee. That's still ¥3,000, but the page quotes two numbers for the same hour. When you call, say which bracket and which coupon, and get the total read back to you.
My plan for a first visit, written out: Over 36, 60 minutes at ¥12,000, plus ¥2,000 to request someone, plus 10% tax. That comes to ¥15,400, plus the room. Transport is free in Dogenzaka.
The fine-print discounts (Dogenzaka only)
Eos runs a stack of side deals, and almost all of them carry the same condition: Dogenzaka love hotels only.
- Review discount: post a review on Cityheaven, show the screen at reception, take ¥2,000 off. Delivery customers, and anyone with an Over 46 woman, get a code for next time instead.
- Newcomer cashback: in a woman's first month, writing her a review earns ¥3,000 back. No repeat requests, no stacking.
- "Okini Talk" discount: message a woman through the portal's chat, book through the link she sends, take ¥2,000 off. No Over 46 courses, no repeat requests.
- 3P / rotation: two women at once or in turns, ¥6,000 off the pair.
The catch is the reception office. The cashback needs a staffer to see your phone, and the office doesn't stay open all night. The coupon page says it closes at 22:00, the event page says 23:00. Book late and you leave with a code, not cash.
Rules and where you are
Portals list no change and no cancellation, so the profile photo and the bracket are the decision. Options vary woman by woman, from ¥1,000 add-ons to the expensive end of the list. Check her page before you promise yourself anything.
Transport, from the official map: Dogenzaka hotels free. Elsewhere in Shibuya ward ¥1,000. Minato, Shinjuku, Meguro and Shinagawa ¥2,000. Setagaya, Suginami, Nakano, Toshima, Bunkyo, Chiyoda and Chuo ¥3,000. Most of the outer wards ¥4,000, and you ask for the far east side. If you're staying in a Shinjuku business hotel, that's ¥2,000 plus whatever the front desk thinks of visitors. Walking up the hill is free.
I didn't find a foreigner rule on any of the shop's pages, either way. There's no English price list, though. The booking runs in Japanese, by phone or the web form.
My call
Eos is the rare shop where the menu answers your questions before you ask. Pick the bracket first, because that's where the price lives. Then pick a Dogenzaka love hotel, because that's where every side discount lives. Book the full length up front, bring cash, and do the 10% in your head before the call. If I'm back, I'm using the ¥3,000 voucher and booking before 10 p.m. so the reception office is still awake.
