I started my morning in the most Yoshiwara way possible: on my phone, checking whether the place was even open. CLUB39 (クラブサンキュー, "Club Thank You") had a notice up. It closed on October 1, 2026 for an equipment inspection and maintenance and said it would be back to normal hours from October 2. That's today. A soapland with fresh maintenance and a shop that tells you about it ahead of time. Fine by me.
The basics, all from the Cityheaven listing, the official site (39group.info) and the shop's English page on Yoasobi Heaven, read on October 2, 2026:
- Type: soapland, filed under 激安 (rock-bottom budget) on Cityheaven
- Address: 4-20-3 Senzoku, Taito-ku, Tokyo
- Phone: 03-5808-1060
- Hours: 7:00 to 24:00, phone lines open from 6:30, open every day of the year
- Getting there: Minowa or Iriya on the Hibiya Line, Uguisudani or Ueno on the JR, Asakusa on the Tsukuba Express. Station pickup is suspended for now, so you're walking or taking a cab. No parking lot, but the shop says there are coin lots nearby.
- Who's behind it: the Thank-you Group (サンキューグループ), a national chain of budget delivery-health shops. CLUB39 is its first Yoshiwara soapland, and the "39" in the name is a pun on san-kyu, "thank you."
I haven't walked through the door. This is the reading I did before deciding whether to. And the reading turned up something I didn't expect.
Menu one: the Japanese price chart
The official site's system page is a single gold image. Here it is, transcribed:
| Course | Price |
|---|---|
| 30 min | ¥9,000 |
| 60 min | ¥19,000 |
| 90 min | ¥29,000 |
| 120 min | ¥39,000 |
| 150 min | ¥49,000 |
| 180 min | ¥59,000 |
| Extension | ¥10,000 |
| 二輪車 (two women at once) | double the price |
That ladder goes up ¥10,000 per half hour after the first 30 minutes. A 30-minute course for ¥9,000 is close to unheard of in Yoshiwara, where most soaps start at 60 or 90 minutes. The official site pitches it for killing time before you meet a friend, or for checking out the rooms and staff before you commit to a longer booking.
There's a catch, and it's written right on the image. Above the time chart are five fee rows: 入会金 (membership), フリー (no nomination), 指名料 (nomination), 特別指名料 (special nomination) and 本指名料 (repeat nomination). None of them shows an amount. The Cityheaven Q&A adds that the shop is 完全指名, nomination only. You tell them your budget and they pick a woman for you. The coupon page says the price runs "60分19,000円~(別途特別指名料)," 60 minutes from ¥19,000 plus a special nomination fee if it applies. Some women on the roster are listed at 30 min from ¥12,000 instead of ¥9,000. So ¥19,000 is where 60 minutes starts, and the total can climb from there.
Menu two: the English page
Yoasobi Heaven is Cityheaven's site for foreign visitors, and CLUB39 has a page there. The headline says "Foreign visitors are welcome." The page says the shop has registered staff who can speak English and offers multilingual chat over LINE, WeChat, KakaoTalk, WhatsApp and email. That's real. Plenty of Yoshiwara soaps shut foreigners out completely. This site has covered two of them.
Then the price list:
| Course | Yoasobi (foreign visitors) | Japanese chart | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 min | not offered | ¥9,000 | n/a |
| 60 min | ¥39,000 | ¥19,000 | +¥20,000 |
| 90 min | ¥55,000 | ¥29,000 | +¥26,000 |
| 120 min | ¥73,000 | ¥39,000 | +¥34,000 |
| 150 min | ¥92,000 | ¥49,000 | +¥43,000 |
| 180 min | ¥111,000 | ¥59,000 | +¥52,000 |
Read across the rows and the English list comes out at about 1.9 to 2 times the Japanese one. A 60-minute course on Yoasobi costs exactly what 120 minutes costs on the Japanese chart. The cast cards on Yoasobi all say "from ¥39,000." The page also says there are "special offers" if you ask in the chat.
Before anybody starts typing an angry review, two fair points. First, I can't tell whether the Yoasobi prices are all-in. The Japanese chart leaves out its nomination fees, so the real Japanese total is ¥19,000 plus something I couldn't find. The English page might be quoting a total that already includes it. Second, English-speaking staff and chat in five apps cost money to run, and the shop is allowed to charge for them. Two price lists aren't a scam. Not saying which one you're on would be the problem, and here both are public.
What I'd do: message the shop in the chat, say how long you want, and ask for the total, including every fee. Then ask what the "special offers" are. Get the number in writing before you get in the cab.
The early bird and the ¥39 lottery
Two deals on the coupon page, both for the morning crowd. CLUB39 opens at 7:00, earlier than a lot of the neighborhood.
早朝割 (early-morning discount). For visits between 7:00 and 11:00, booked online, you get ¥1,000 off the total. Say "早朝割" when you arrive. The example on the coupon shows 60 minutes going from ¥19,000 to ¥18,000. It's small, but it's free money for anyone who's jet-lagged and awake at five anyway.
モーニングサンキュー (Morning Thank-you). One winner a day gets a 60-minute course for ¥39. Thirty-nine yen. The rules are long and strict:
- First-time customers only, one winner a day, and no weekends or event days
- The drawing runs from 9:30 to 9:31. Be on time.
- You can't pick the woman. It's a free (no-nomination) course.
- You have to add the shop to your My Shop list on Cityheaven and post a review
- The passphrase at the door is 「モーニングサンキューイベント見た!」 ("I saw the Morning Thank-you event!")
- If you lose, you're still expected to play at the normal price. This is the line to read twice.
- Don't line up outside other shops while you wait
It's a lottery ticket with a minimum purchase stapled to it. If you were going to visit on a weekday morning anyway, it costs nothing to enter. If you weren't, don't let ¥39 talk you into a booking.
House rules, so nobody gets embarrassed
The English page lists the usual prohibitions, and they line up with every reputable shop in town. No one under 18. Showering and gargling aren't optional. No photos of the women. No personal toys. No asking for phone numbers or dates outside the shop. No drugs. No visits if you have, or might have, an STD. And when time's up, you let her go. A vocabulary note from the Japanese chart: 二輪車 literally means "two-wheeler." It's slang for a two-woman course, it costs double, and it has nothing to do with motorcycles. The roster is women from about 20 to 39, with "no genre restrictions." The official site talks up model types, gravure types and a few AV actresses.
My verdict before the door
CLUB39 is two shops behind one front door. On its Japanese pages it's a budget soap with Yoshiwara's rare 30-minute course, a straight ¥10,000-per-half-hour ladder and blank nomination fees. On its English page it's a foreigner-friendly shop with English staff and a price list that roughly doubles. Both are honest about existing. Neither tells you the final total up front.
So the one move that matters is the same on both menus: get the total in writing before you go. If the chat answer comes back close to the Japanese chart, CLUB39 is one of the best-value soaps in Yoshiwara that will actually take a foreign customer. If it comes back at the Yoasobi list price, you're paying mid-range Yoshiwara money, and you should compare it with mid-range Yoshiwara shops.
